Visualizing where you want to be in terms of your personal health goals can help achieve outcomes more quickly and more sustainably.
Visualization techniques can be learned and practiced to achieve outcomes in a variety of different areas of your life such as your relationships, health, career, just to name a few.
If you have a new goal in mind that you would like to achieve or an old one that you just haven’t been able to accomplish, then visualization might be the right technique for you.
While there are a number of different exercises, one that my clients favor is painting a mental image of yourself. Imagine that you have already achieved your goal and ask your self: Where are you? Who are you with? What do you look like and how do you feel?
Give yourself time to get into the mood to visualize and don’t be frustrated if nothing specific comes up. This exercise may need to be repeated several times before you actually succeed. It can also be incorporated into a meditation to give you more time to get in the mood and draw up a detailed image and scenery surrounding your accomplished self.
